Ode To OneODE TO ONE NOT YET FORGOTTEN or A HEART ABASHED -V. W. R.Ode To One
The warmest of regards, my love, to see that you are well But brandishing a passion strong a tale, I feel, must tell. Through wells and droughts of amorous sighs this being hath contained A storm of seething discontent and fervor has remained.
Like sun upon precipitous rock, sea drenched upon the tide You fictitious words and enchanting wit I, transfixed, did abide:
"If I had wronged thee pray dear sweet, throw caution to the wind For virtuous and good natured be I- your subject- who hath sinned"
